Bell Study: Filter Bank Construction & Manipulation (2024)

About: Max/MSP project inspired by Jonathan Harvey's "Mortuous Plango, Vivos Voco" in which I performed a Fourier Transform on Harvey's recording of a tenor bell from the Winchester Cathedral, split the sound into 16 frequency bins and applied the option for frequency modulation and exponential decay sliders for each bin. Ultimately, this allows you to 'compose' through bands of bell recording partials. The bell can also be slowed down and reversed as to really sit with the different harmonic possibilities.
